You cannot apply for a visa to France or Italy on a small stay student visa for up to six months in the UK. To apply for a visa to France you must hold a U.K. residence permit which must be valid for longer than 6 months.

Note that you need to apply to the country which will be your main destination; if you plot to stay in both countries for an equal time you need to apply for the visa to the country you plot to visit first.
